EASTER!!!

It is about that time to start decorating the ol' easter eggs. I LOVE hard boiled eggs, so any excuse to make them I am game. I envisioned black and white eggs with pops of color. I thought by mixing all the dyes that come in the standard easter dye kit it would make a deep black. Well it didn't, but instead made a beautiful deep purpley, maroon color. Also I was hoping for crisp lines using the painter tape, but the vinegar ate through causing some super cool bleeds. Although the project wasn't how I envisioned in my head, kinda happy with how they turned out.

TOOLS: egg dye kit, three tablespoons of vinegar (I only had apple cider, which seemed to work fine), 12 hard boiled eggs, painters tape.

MAKE: add all the dyes to the vinegar with about two cups of water and allow a few minutes for the tablets to disintegrate. Tape up your eggs, dip, dry and remove. I took the tape off when the eggs were just about done drying (because I am inpatient) and rubbed the excess with the paper towel.

Succulent Wreath

I found the best succulent wreath DIY. Although I probably won't get around to making it (yah know with the move in all) someone really should (& send me a pic so I can ooo & ahhh). I love that it doesn't scream christmas and can stay up year round. Check out the tutorial here.

Make Me // 01

So I am going to share with you guys the easiest origami bowl ever.  All you need are a few (three to be exact) pieces of origami (or regular old paper cut into a square) and a little bit of glue. The finished product is perfect for holiday knick-knacks, treats, or whateva'. I am currently using mine to hold my washi tape. Check out the gif below and hit me up if you have any questions.

Holiday DIY No. 1

Top-of-the morning to yah. Wanted to share a little holiday DIY that I tackled this weekend, homemade Apple-Cinnamon Granola. I stumbled across this delicious looking granola recipe over at taza-and-husband and thought I would take a stab at it. Turns out the recipe is super sinch,and quite tasty. It makes the perfect x-mas/hostess or thinking of you gift. The recipe is compliments of Beth and once again can be found here. If you want to step it up a notch add some raisins, dried fruit... or perhaps some chocolate.

Then when your done making the gooey goodness find your self some mason jars or maybe these air tight jars from ikea (they come in a bunch of different sizes). Top it off with a fun holiday hang tag. And TAH-DAH

Heres a lil' printable for yah! Print it out on cover stock of your choosing. You can use and xacto knife or this approx. 2.75 X 1.75 die cut. Then punch a hole and wrap around your jar with a fun piece of ribbon.

Note: feel free to use Gluten Free rolled oats

Honey...I'm Done!

Order, pour, cut, place, secure, wrap, tie....add music, and you have yourself an assembly line beat. Doing anything 190 times can make anyone a little stir crazy, but I am happy to announce that the wedding favor is complete and my sanity is still in tack (well kind of). Now the hard part of getting these bad boys to the wedding planner...Honey is HEAVY! 

I read over on apracticalwedding.com a quote about DIY..."Remember DIY doesn't save the world, and it's not always cheaper. But! Maybe you still want to make things, because making things is fun, and you need to do with what you have." What struck me was the not always cheaper part...so I decided to tally up my total for my Honey DIY and see if I actually saved money...
